The Bio-Process Systems Alliance (BPSA) has announced the release of two new technical papers aimed at supporting the use of single-use technologies in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. These publications focus on challenges in cell and gene therapy production and the increasing shift toward continuous bioprocessing.

The first paper, Navigating Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing Bottlenecks, explores key limitations affecting the scalability and consistency of cell and gene therapy manufacturing. It outlines how single-use technologies can help overcome these hurdles while enabling more adaptable and efficient production approaches in this fast-moving field.
The second paper, Continuous Bioprocessing with Single-Use Technologies, looks at how single-use systems facilitate the move from traditional batch methods to continuous manufacturing. It offers practical insights into the main considerations, challenges, and benefits involved in adopting these technologies within continuous processes.
