MSD Animal Health is starting construction of a new production facility in Boxmeer. The expansion is intended to meet the growing global demand for animal vaccines and medicines. The official start was on March 27th by the unveiling of the construction sign by site director Darcio Santos.
Construction is expected to take three years and will lead to an expansion of the existing production lines for formulating and filling vaccines and medicines. The products from the new facility will be shipped to approximately 140 countries and contribute to animal health worldwide.
Important investment in the future
MSD Animal Health has modern production and research facilities in Boxmeer and De Bilt. The expansion in Boxmeer is part of a broader investment plan. "This expansion is a direct response to the increasing demand for animal vaccines and medicines," says Santos. He emphasizes that the construction uses advanced digitalization, automation and energy-saving measures to meet the increasing demands of customers. In November, MSD Animal Health also started the construction of a new quality laboratory in Boxmeer.
The new facility, which is expected to be operational in three years, not only offers an expansion of production lines, but also the opportunity to welcome approximately 80 new colleagues.
