Mosa Meat, a food technology company based in the Netherlands that specializes in cultured meat, has announced the opening of Cultivate at Scale, a new independent, open-access scale-up facility dedicated to advancing cell culture bioprocesses. It means a significant milestone in the journey toward sustainable food systems.

Developed with Mosa Meat’s expertise and the support of the Dutch government’s National Growth Fund, this facility in Maastricht will provide critical infrastructure for companies innovating in cellular agriculture. By bridging the gap between research and scalable production, Cultivate at Scale is lowering barriers to entry and helping drive the global transition to sustainable, ethical, and resilient food systems.

Mosa Meat states: “This is more than a facility—it’s a reflection of our belief in the power of collaboration to stimulate a thriving ecosystem. We’re incredibly proud to see Cultivate at Scale stand independently while staying rooted in Mosa Meat’s mission to shape the future of food.”

The Netherlands continues to lead the way in cellular agriculture innovation, and this new facility complements another exciting project: a precision fermentation scale-up center in Ede, established by NIZO. Together, these initiatives solidify the Netherlands' position as a global hub for sustainable food innovation.

Mosa Meat: “A huge thank you to our partners, the Cellular Agriculture Netherlands Foundation (Cellulaire Agricultuur Nederland), and the Dutch government for making this vision a reality.”
