Uniphar has announced the opening of three advanced facilities as part of its ongoing international expansion. The company recently established new sites in Raleigh, North Carolina, US, Lelystad in the Netherlands and Dublin, Ireland. These additions reinforce Uniphar’s dedication to strengthening its logistics and distribution network within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries on a global scale.
According to Uniphar, these strategically located facilities enhance its ability to support pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies more effectively. By offering end-to-end solutions across the entire product lifecycle, the company aims to ensure the timely delivery of essential therapies to patients worldwide while also helping pharmaceutical companies navigate market access challenges.
U.S.A.
The new facility in Raleigh is a 65,000-square-foot, pharmaceutical-grade storage site. It is designed to accommodate ambient, cold-chain, and freezer storage needs. The site includes specialized clean rooms for clinical trials, a DEA-compliant vault for controlled substances, and a fully integrated warehouse management system. Additionally, it features a redundant power supply, temperature and humidity monitoring, and advanced inventory management capabilities.
The Netherlands
Uniphar’s Lelystad facility, its primary European site, spans 9,000 square meters. It features narrow-aisle, high-bay racking, controlled ambient storage, and designated quarantine zones. The plant has solar energy and triple redundant power supply.
Ireland
The newly launched Dublin facility covers 35,000 square meters and focuses on cold-chain logistics. Its cutting-edge design maximizes material flow efficiency while incorporating distinct zones for quarantine, product recalls, and returns management.
With these new sites, Uniphar now operates 22 strategically positioned facilities across Europe, North America, and other key markets.
